Alex completed the Building Technology program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1996, with a specialization in architecture. Graduating at the head of his class, he earned the AIBC Award of Architectural Excellence. Alex then spent 10 years honing his skills in drafting and design, bylaw and zoning application, project management and communications at Formwerks Homes (currently The Airey Group), one of Vancouver’s leading residential design firms. As a senior architectural technician, he was responsible for the development and architectural design management of a wide variety of residential projects, ranging from high-end single-family custom homes to 90-unit multi-family developments. Alex maintains an excellent working relationship with the Planning Department at City Hall, and is happiest when working one-to-one with his clients; his professional goal is always to design a house that exceeds their expectations.
